Although this image appears to be of the moon, it is actually taken in the light of day with a very fast shutter speed and captures a solar eclipse over Fraser Island. I remember being super excited to experience and maybe photograph my first solar eclipse. There was lots of talk the days leading up of how to view the eclipse safely without causing any damage to your eyes. I remember looking like an idiot, wearing 2 to 3 pairs of sunglasses trying to view it. This time on my photography journey it was very much trial and error with my settings, but I still knew to let as little light in my camera as possible to avoid an over exposed image. I was obviously hoping for a clear view of the event, but the morning was overcast with strong winds and the clouds only allowed glimpses of what was happening. I was unsure if I was going to capture anything at all, as I had only my wide-angle lens with me. Luckily, the clouds and the light spectrums that were created on them, really added a cool dimension to the shot.
